IBB’s confessions about his role in annu!!ed the 1993 presidential election stirred up public backlash, and Verydarkman has taken the opportunity to voice his opinion on the matter.
In his post, the human rights activist expressed concerns over IBB’s acknowledgment of his decision to annu! the June 12 election, which was regarded as Nigeria’s freest and fairest.
The election saw business mogul Moshood Abiola emerge as the apparent winner, but IBB’s controversial annu!ment led to years of political instability, civil unrest, and even the untimely d£ath of Abiola.
“That man suppose spend the rest of his life in pri$on,” Verydarkman said, referencing IBB’s direct involvement in undermining democracy in Nigeria.
According to the activist, IBB’s actions were not just a political mistake but a betrayal of the Nigerian people and their democratic aspirations.
He added that the annulment was a dark chapter in Nigeria’s history and one that should not be overlooked, regardless of how much time has passed since the event.
