“The devil fears prayer but he’s not afraid of you if you don’t have money” – Rev. Biodun Fatoyinbo

The senior pastor of the Common Wealth of Zion church, aka Coza, Reverend Biodun Fatoyinbo, in his sermon during the “COZA 12DG 2025” convention, advises his congregation to go after prosperity.

He explained how prosperity helps in preaching the gospel; it might not give you the right to preach, but it will always ease your preaching, he said.

The clergyman narrated how someone went to preach the gospel but was mocked because of how poor-looking he was.
The mockers claimed if the preacher had received Jesus, he wouldn’t have been poor.
He also stated how during his early days as a preacher, he normally shouted when preaching, but looking at how prosperous he is, he doesn’t shout anymore.
“Pastors who are not prosperous only pray for money to run church programs instead of praying for the lord to bless the members; as a result of this, the pastor falls sick after the program, not because of the rigorous program but because they have bills to pay.”
“Before the program, the pastor will be running a series of prayers and raising different offerings, making the congregation know the pastor is broke,” he added.
According to Reverend Biodun Fatoyinbo, prosperity cannot be overemphasised.
A user with the name Joseph Ameh disagreed to the pastor’s statement, she said:
“Pastors don’t preach gospel anymore… they just come up with stories that will look related to things happening around us…
The other one said He won’t attend ur wedding if u marry outside his ministry… so dis is what u understand from de bible u study every day?
So there’s a place in the bible that says what this man is saying now?”
