Mercy Johnson Okojie born August 28, 1984 in Lagos, Nigeria from Okene in Kogi State. She is the 4th of 7 children of Daniel Johnson a former naval officer and his wife Elizabeth. Due to her father’s military career Mercy had a nomadic childhood attending different schools in Nigeria. She started her primary school in Calabar and continued at a Nigerian Navy Primary School in Lagos. For her secondary education she attended Rivers State Secondary School and Nigerian Navy Secondary School in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Career Beginnings and Rise to Fame
Mercy Johnson’s journey into acting started after her secondary school. In 2004 she auditioned for a role in the movie “The Maid” where she played a possessed maid. Her performance got her so much attention and she got many roles in Nollywood. Over the years Mercy has showcased her versatility in different genres of movies including romantic dramas, comedies and action movies. Some of her notable works include “Hustlers”, “Baby Oku in America” and “War in the Palace”.

In 2011 Mercy married Prince Odianosen Okojie. They have 4 kids Purity, Henry, Angel and Divine-Mercy. Mercy often shares photos of her family life on social media reflecting a balance between her busy career and family life.

Apart from her entertainment career Mercy is known for her philanthropic work especially supporting widows and less privileged children through her foundation. In 2017 she was appointed as the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor of Kogi State on Entertainment, Arts and Culture reflecting her influence and commitment to societal development.
