Davido was born November 21, 1992 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. He is the last of five kids and son of a Nigerian businessman Adedeji Adeleke and a university lecturer Veronica Imade Adeleke. He was raised in Lagos, Nigeria and attended British International School before moving back to the United States to study business administration in Oakwood University, Alabama. But he dropped out to pursue music.

Davido’s music journey started in 2011 with the release of his debut single “Back When” featuring Naeto C. The song did well and led to his next hit “Dami Duro” which cemented his position in the Nigerian music industry. In 2012 he released his debut album “Omo Baba Olowo” which was a blend of Afrobeats and hip-hop.
Since then he has released several chart topping singles “If”, “Fall”, “FIA” and “Assurance”. He has collaborated with international artistes like Chris Brown on “Blow My Mind” and Nicki Minaj on “Holy Ground”. In 2019 he released his second studio album “A Good Time” and “A Better Time” in 2020 both were critically and commercially successful.
