Just In: “We can use blockchain to bring in 2 Billion USD from around the world into South East in ONE MONTH.” — Dr. Charles Awuzie
In a passionate call for regional transformation, Dr. Charles Awuzie has outlined a bold vision for using blockchain technology to achieve economic freedom in South East Nigeria and beyond. In a recent Facebook post, he emphasized that the region’s future lies in technology-driven development, not in political agitation or extremist ideologies.
“We don’t need to wait for Govt in this digital economy. We don’t need political secessionists, religious extremists, or bandits to free us. Technology can free us,” Awuzie wrote, stressing that economic freedom is better than political freedom.
He argued that regions worldwide have achieved progress through economic empowerment rather than political movements, stating, “I know and have lived in countries where the people received political freedom, but they never received economic freedom—nothing really changed.”
Awuzie’s strategy centers on the formation of a South East Economic Forum in 2025, which would leverage blockchain to drive industrialization, infrastructure development, agriculture, healthcare, and tech-based skills acquisition. He believes this approach could attract $2 billion in investments within a single month.
“With this fund, we can build and tokenize infrastructure, industrialize the region, invest in high-tech skills acquisition centers across the region, revamp tourism, and incentivize youths to secure the region against criminals. And we can achieve this with BLOCKCHAIN in ONE MONTH—if the right people come on board,” he explained.
Awuzie criticized the South East elite for failing to collaborate on economic transformation, accusing them of focusing solely on showcasing wealth instead of creating regional opportunities. He understands technology and blockchain as the only sure and ultimate equalizer, where interactions and transactions are open, decentralized and transparent, with it’s consensus-driven qualifies.
In his action call, he mentioned notable entrepreneurs and business tycoons who hail from south East. Topping his list are
Prince Arthur Eze, Chief Allen Onyema, Chief Ibeto Cletus, innoson, Chief Emeka Offor, Mr. Peter Obi, Cosmas Maduka, Tony Ezenna, Mr Benedict Peters, Linda Ikeji, Mr Leo Stan Ekeh Mrs Stella Okoli and other Igbo entrepreneurs. He enjoined them to join this blockchain-powered economic revolution. “The system will not be owned by any single person,” he assured, emphasizing the transparency and inclusivity of blockchain technology.
Awuzie’s post is a wake-up call to rethink regional development in Nigeria through innovative, tech-driven solutions. If successful, his South East Blockchain Powered Economic Transformation Strategy could become a model for other regions, bringing prosperity and hope to millions.
It’s not just about freedom anymore—it’s about economic freedom through technology.
