Zimbabwe Government Declare all WhatsApp Group admins Must pay a License fee of $50 to Operate
Zimbabwe WhatsApp regulation sparks online debate, with people reacting over the new regulation against human rights.
The government of Zimbabwe has implemented a new regulation that requires you to have a license before opening a WhatsApp group.
All intending administrators must first register with the Post and Telecommunication Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ) to get a license costs $50.
The Minister of Information Monica Mutsvangwa made the announcement stating it was to control the spread of false information and to track down it sources.

The minister also stated how other countries are implementing several measures to secure their data, Zimbabwe will not be left out as they also seek measures to secure business conversation.
During registration, administrators are to provide information about themselves as they will be held responsible if things go wrong in the group.
Many people think this is against the freedom of speech for citizens and it is an infringement on one’s privacy.

She failed to communicate correctly. This does not include private family groups or social WhatsApp groups. Potraz has put fees for large organizations groups who access a lot of people’s data, like universities, medical aid societies, hospitals, and other organizations harvesting people’s data that they in turn are selling to marketing companies in the form of WhatsApp groups with a large number of targeted market audience.
