“You Shouldn’t Need Permission to See Your Pastor” – Daniel Regha
On X (formerly Twitter), social media commentator Daniel Regha recently addressed the issue of accessibility to church leaders, pointing out that some churches discriminate based on congregants’ socio-economic status.

He wrote, “There’s no reason why a church member should need permission before seeing their pastor(s). Men of God should be accessible at all times (in the church). Okonkwo with a Benz shouldn’t have easy access when Tunde is being given an appointment. DISCRIMINATION.”
Regha’s observation that some churches prioritize members perceived as wealthy, giving them immediate access to pastoral care while others are required to schedule appointments has sparked conversations about inclusivity in religious communities. CelebrityNote has gathered some of the reactions:

This isn’t the first time Regha has addressed discrimination in church settings. In December 2022, he wrote,
“There’s discriminati¤n in the church; During service when the pastor says turn to ur neighbour, some people are being selective about who to look. When they face someone rich or elegantly dressed they smile, but when it’s someone unfashionab!e, they do face anyh¤w. This is wr¤ng.”
