Vendor Disqualified from N500K Giveaway After Old Tweet Mocking Zlatan Ibile Resurfaces

A young Nigerian vendor missed the opportunity to get N500,000 after singer Zlatan Ibile found an old tweet in which she made fun of him for his early difficulties in the music industry.

The situation started when Zlatan promised N500K each to support small business owners who regularly post about their work online as part of a giveaway he was doing on his X platform.
“This is for the dedication and hustle—if you’ve always shared or advertised your work or products on your timeline, this one’s for you. What does your small business need to thrive? How can I support you? I go check your timeline before I drop sha.”
The singer chose the vendor as a beneficiary after noticing her.
But Zlatan looked over her previous tweets before sending the money and found one from 2020 in which she made fun of him.
The previous tweet was in response to a post by Zlatan in which he criticised an influencer with whom he had a disagreement in 2018.
The vendor had replied, “This one dey find who go drag am make him trend. We won’t drag you ooo, carry your noise enter Aso Rock. It’s not appreciated here.”
