There is no doubt that Rema, whose fame and influence came to the spotlight a few years ago, has contributed greatly to the Nigerian music industry, especially with his hit song ‘Calm down,’ which went viral and has over a billion streams.
However, Timaya’s remarks as the number one among the young artists are being countered by fans of other music stars.
Some fans flooded the comment section expressing their concerns amidst the comment. Some accused the music icon of being biased in his judgment because they believed there are other young Afrobeats singers who sing and write better songs than Rema.
Celebritynote has compiled some of the reactions below.
@Joseph- “What is he saying, self? Where do you keep Omalay?” @Daniel- “Well, you are entitled to your opinion, but you are not right on this one Mr. As e dey pain us, e dey them.”
@Dollar- “This is a lie. Rema is not the biggest.”
While critics were challenging Timaya’s remarks, fans and followers of Rema stood against the critics, accusing them of being jealous of their favorite singer.
@Grace- “What are you guys saying? Rema is truly their Dad. He’s the biggest, and there is nothing you people can do about it.”
Regardless of the reactions from fans and critics, we cannot dispute the fact that the young, talented singer Rema is one of the biggest entertainers in Africa.
