Speed Darlington’s former lawyer advises people on how to secure their property during a divorce
Stanley Alieke, the former lawyer to controversial rapper, Darlington Achakpo, aka Speed Darlington, has advised people to sign a prenup before marriage to protect their assets during divorce.
The lawyer, who gave the advice in a post on Sunday, February 2nd, 2025, said in the absence of a prenup, one can protect his or her assets by acquiring properties in their parents’ names as inheritance and gifts are typically exempted from being shared during divorce.
“If you can’t get a prenup, acquire properties in your parent’s name then have your parents give you the properties as gifts or your inheritance,
Inheritance or gifts are exempted from being shared during a divorce.” he wrote.
