Reno Omokri defends Aare Afe Babalola amidst social media b@cklash

Former presidential aide and social media personality, Reno Omokri defends Aare Afe Babalola and blasts his critics.

Recall that Aare Afe Babalola, prominent Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and founder of Afe Babalola University Ado-Ekiti, prosecuted Dele Farotimi, for alleged defamation in a book he (Farotimi) wrote titled ”Nigeria and its Cr!minal Justice System”.

Afe Babalola wrote to the Police in Ekiti State to complain about the alleged cr!me, which prompted the Police to arrest Farotimi in Lagos and arraign him before a Magistrate’s Court in Ado-Ekiti. He was subsequently detained.

This matter caused wild rage of reactions with a lot of b@cklash and ang*r towards Aare Afe Babalola for what he did. Reno took to his X account to support and defend Aare Afe Babalola. He said,

”I am so disappointed by how people who should speak up for Aare Afe Babalola left him to be publicly denigrated, insult*d and des3crated by Obidients because they are afraid of being bull!ed.

Chief Babalola has done no wrong. I am proud that such a man is a Nigerian. Nobody should be allowed to sully his hard-earned reputation without evidence and then unleash their media power to c0wer him.

No amount of cyberb*llying will make me keep silent about my solidarity with him and all that he stands for. If you know that Chief Babalola ought not to be disrespected as has been done to him and refuse to speak up for him for fear of the h0rde of rud@pests, then you are certainly not an Omoluabi.

And don’t worry. Your turn is coming. These people do not support what is right. They support what is trending.

And the day that it becomes trendy to d3stroy your own hard-earned reputation without evidence, they will jump on the bandwagon and savage your legacy. Is it not !nsult? It is their native language. Still, say the truth. Eebu o kin pa eyan!”
