RCCG’s Pastor Adeboye Declares 100-Day Fast, Citing Third World War Concerns

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, announced a 100-day fast and prayer period during the first Holy Ghost Service of the year.

He urged members to seek divine intervention for world peace and to avert a possible thPastor Adeboye expressed his worry about the growing number of disputes around the world and cautioned that if tensions are not controlled, they may turn into a global emergency.
He urged members to pray against the start of new conflicts and the intensification of current ones, saying, “If there is a world war, it will affect you wherever you are.
The fasting period, with modifications for senior members, will take place from January 11 to April 21, 2025. People 70 to 80 years old can break their fast at 3 p.m., and people beyond 80 can do so at midday. Members who are 90 years of age or older are not encouraged to fast at all.
Nigeria will be the focus of the first 30 days of prayer, with issues including sabotage and corruption being addressed.
Pastor Adeboye made the amusing observation that some prayers will be “v!ol£nt” against those who seek to thwart the advancement of the nation.
Additionally, he advised members to join daily prayer meetings at 6 p.m. and to converse less in order to maintain their spiritual focus throughout the fast.
Pastor Adeboye asked for prayers on a wide scale to stop natural disasters including floods, storms, and wildfires. He underlined the importance of being vigilant, saying, “We must make sure that old wars do not escalate into third world conflicts.”
