Omotola Jalade Ekeinde Embraces Self-Love After Scarring from Operation
Award-winning Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde popularly known by her nickname Omosexy recently described how she found love for herself in accepting that she now has a scarring on her body that she used to regard as part of her greatest assets.

Last year in 2024, Omotola was rushed for part of her gallbladder to be removed in an operation to alleviate severe back and chest pains, repeated vomiting, and numbing pangs in the stomach. Talking of that terrible experience, Omotola noted that she has embraced owning her post-surgery scarring as proof of how she weathered all of it as well as how much she needed to love herself unapologetically.
On Instagram, Omotola wrote how she found love for herself in accepting that she now has a scarring on her body that she used to regard as part of her greatest assets. During a photo session recently, she confessed that for a split second, she was taken in by how she would have to take pictures from every other side but that she immediately thought differently to concentrate on how she was so much more than that mark on her body.
Omotola wrote on Instagram, “Loving yourself first is the greatest Val gift. Last year in transit to see my family for thanksgiving. I ended up having to have an emergency surgery. One of the greatest assets of my body was my tum. Oh well not so flawless now.”
This isn’t the first that Omotola has gone public with illness. Last year in November of 2024, she spoke at length of how she was in and out of ER in agony of extreme pain despite having attended the Academy Voting Members’ preview of “Gladiator II.” After that, doctors diagnosed that she had a dilated gallbladder that required immediate surgery. Speaking of how she recovered from that experience, she gave all glory to God by stating that, “So the fight for my life started, and now I am coming back to give all glory to God.”
