Omoni Oboli’s ‘Love in Every Word’ Back on YouTube After Brief Copyright Dispute

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Omoni Oboli has put her romantic drama, ‘Love in Every Word’, back on YouTube after a brief removal following a copyright claim. Her movie had already gotten over 7 million views in 72 hours. The movie was released on March 7, 2025 and was thereafter taken down on March 11, 2025 which left fans and supporters in shock.

The takedown was supposedly due to a copyright infringement claim by Chinonso Obiora, a Canada-based network engineer and owner of Skyberry Studios, an Abuja-based photography and videography company.

The removal of the movie sparked reactions on social media which moved Omoni to speak on the issue as soon as she could on Wednesday, March 12. While speaking on the issue, Omoni shared a link to the movie so that fans couldl continue watching it and supporting the movie to reach more people.

This is not the first time Omoni has faced copyright issues. In January 2025, she addressed allegations of script plagiarism on another YouTube release. Omoni said the issue was as a result of a script she bought from a screenwriter who had already sold the same script to another producer. She assured fans of her commitment to originality and transparency and took steps to investigate and resolve the matter.

Omoni has been in Nollywood for over 2 decades and has proven to be a talented actress, scriptwriter, director and producer. She studied digital filmmaking at New York Film Academy and has written several screenplays including ‘The Figurine’ (2009), ‘Anchor Baby’ (2010), ‘Being Mrs Elliott’, ‘The First Lady’ and ‘Wives on Strike’ (2016).
