The singer revealed this during a candid conversation with content creator, Egungun of Lagos, while they were riding in a car.
The major point of the conversation was the peculiar name ‘Elizabeth Joyce’ on Portable’s Instagram profile.
Many followers have wondered about the identity behind the name, but Portable’s explanation has taken many by surprise. According to him, the account was originally set up as part of his brief foray into the world of internet fr@ud, commonly known as Yahoo Yahoo in Nigeria.
Portable revealed that his initial purpose for creating the account was to learn and engage in internet fr@ud.
“To be honest with you, I created an Instagram account when I wanted to learn Yahoo Yahoo,” he confessed. Yahoo Yahoo refers to the fr@udulent activities, including online sc@ms, that have become notorious among some Nigerians.
However, things took a different turn as Portable’s desire to become a ‘Yahoo boy’ quickly dissipated when he realized that the account, originally designed for scamming, could serve a different purpose.
After achieving success as a musician, Portable made a conscious decision to rebrand the account, realizing that his newfound fame had attracted attention online.
“I later went back to edit the account, and removed the foreigner’s picture from it when I heard that people were looking for me online because I had become successful,” he explained.
