JUST IN: MC Oluomo Elected as the NURTW National President

Alhaji Musliu Akinsanya, a popular politician who is also known as MC Oluomo has just been elected as the National President of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) by the southwest zone of Nigeria.

According to Gistreel, the election was carried out during the period of the Quadrennial Delegate Conference in Osogbo, Osun state at the union’s zonal secreteriat which lots of delegates from states like Ekiti, Lagos, Ondo, and Ogun also participated in.

The then acting National President of the union, Aliyu Issa-Ore supervised the conference and laid emphasis on the opinion that the constitution of the union needs the zone to nominate its candidate to the national Secretariat.

The head of finance who represented the Abuja National Headquarters, Mrs. Adedamola Salam said that the zone in the Southwest agreed to the guidelines of the constitution to elect the new President, MC Oluomo.

Secondly, Tajudeen Agbede was elected as the Vice President in the Southwest region and Akeem Adeosun was elected in as the Trustee for the zone.

After taking the oath of the office, in his acceptance speech, MC called for peace and unity among all members and their dedication to maintaining coordination in the union.

He stated, “I have forgiven everyone who may have wronged me and hope that those I have offended can also forgive me. This is our union, and we must remain committed to safeguarding it. We will not let anyone jeopardize our source of livelihood”.
