“Christianity has nothing to do with Jesus” – Reno Omokri
Former presidential aide Reno Omokri has ignited debate after making a religious statement that seems to be controversial.
On Wednesday, December 18, 2024, the California resident took to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle to pour out his conviction about Christianity and the person of Jesus Christ.
According to Reno, “much of what we call Christianity has nothing to do with Jesus.”
This highlight caught the attention of the wider audience as everyone tried to make their points while some stood against him for making such a statement.
Mr. Reno went further, presenting facts while he begged the public, particularly Christians, not to take offense but rather fact-check everything that comes from him regarding his explanation so that they can be enriched with accurate beliefs in their religion.
He said, “The word Christ is not a Hebrew word. Yeshua, whom some call Jesus, was never called Christ in His earthly lifetime.”
“Please, instead of arguing, criticizing, or insulting me, take a break from the spell cast upon you by your pastor and his church and simply fact-check me.” Understand your religion and know your faith so you can have accurate beliefs.”
Omokri also explains that the book of Mark is inaccurate because the original book of Mark ends in Mark 16:8.
This further intensified arguments amongst Christian denominations. He also pleaded with the public never to follow him or any pastor blindly but out of conviction and direction.
“Before you accuse me of being demon-possessed, just research and fact-check me. Don’t just follow me or any pastor, priest, or church blindly.”
Reno’s statement got many people talking. @Favour – “This man is an agent of devil, what kind of thing is this”
@Adeyemi – “I don’t believe this man abeg. Jesus Christ is for us the Christian and you can’t do anything nonsense “
@Vivian- “This man is always looking for traffic”
@Muhammed- “You guys should stop attacking this man instead go read your Bible.”
@Hassan – “Please tell them ooo Oga Sir “
