Go To Court, Tinubu Tells Aggrieved Losers Of Ondo Governorship Election

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on opposition parties dissatisfied with just concluded Ondo State governorship election outcomes to pursue their grievances in court rather than inciting unrest. Speaking at an event in Abuja, Tinubu emphasized the importance of respecting democratic processes and judicial mechanisms.

“Democracy is about fairness and the rule of law. If you lose an election and feel cheated, the courts are there for you. We must embrace civility and not chaos,” Tinubu stated, in apparent reference to recent protests by opposition groups challenging the results of several gubernatorial and legislative elections.

The President’s remarks have ignited mixed reactions across Nigeria. Supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) applauded his stance, describing it as a call for order and respect for due process. “Tinubu is setting a precedent for political maturity. Let’s stop the culture of street protests and focus on evidence-based challenges in court,” said an APC stalwart.

However, opposition figures and critics accused Tinubu of insensitivity and hypocrisy, pointing to claims of irregularities during his own election victory earlier this year. “How can he preach about going to court when his own mandate is still being questioned by many Nigerians?” asked a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
