His reappearance comes amid reports that the security details assigned to his replacement, Hon. Mojisola Lasbat Meranda, have been withdrawn.

Sources suggest that Obasa’s security privileges have been reinstated, while Meranda, the Assembly’s first female Speaker, faces uncertainty regarding her position.
Although she has not officially stepped down, there are indications that her removal is imminent.
The crisis has drawn the intervention of key figures within the All Progressives Congress (APC), including former APC National Chairman Chief Bisi Akande, former Osun State Governor Chief Olusegun Osoba, and ex-Commissioner for Justice Dr. Muiz Banire.
Furthermore, members of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) and several lawmakers have been involved in resolving the leadership dispute.
Obasa’s return signals a significant power shift within the Assembly. However, the situation remains and further developments are expected in the coming days.
