Pope Francis in Serious Condition: Vatican Reveals Asthmatic Attack and Kidney Issues
According to the Vatican on Sunday, February 23, Pope Francis, the head of the Roman Catholic Church, is in serious health conditions with blood tests indicating slight kidney failure “which is currently under control.”

The Vatican claims that the pope was first tested for a respiratory tract infection after being brought to a facility in Rome on February 14.
A second CT scan revealed that the 88-year-old pontiff had pneumonia in both lungs.
Francis has not experienced any further respiratory episodes since yesterday evening, according to the Vatican’s statement released on Sunday night.
The Vatican stated that the Pope is still “vigilant and well orientated” despite some of his blood tests showing “an initial, mild, renal failure, which is currently under control.”
According to the statement, Francis, who is still on oxygen, participated in Sunday morning’s Holy Mass from the apartment that was put up on the tenth floor of Gemelli Hospital.
“The complexity of the clinical picture, and the necessary wait for pharmacological therapies to provide some feedback, require that the prognosis remain reserved,” the Vatican said.
On Monday, Francis will beat the mark for the second-longest hospital stay since his election as pope.
