Access Bank writes a one-year remembrance message to the late CEO of Access Holdings Herbert Wigwe, his wife Chizoba, and their son Chizzy, who tragically lost their lives in a helicopter crash in California exactly one year ago, on February 9th, 2024.
In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, Access Bank honored their memory, reflecting on the profound impact they had on the institution and the wider community.
“Today marks one year since the world stood still for us. On this day, we lost Herbert, Doreen, and Chizzy, three remarkable souls who left an indelible mark on our lives and our hearts.
One year later, we still feel the void, but we also feel the weight of their legacy. One that challenges us to be better, do better, and strive for greatness.
As we reflect, we carry forward the values they instilled and honor their memories by walking the path they paved for us. Forever in our hearts.”
Recall, that the Wigwes were among six victims who di3d when their helicopter crashed near the Mojave Desert in California on February 9th, 2024.
The tragic accident sent shockwaves across Nigeria’s business and financial sectors, as Herbert Wigwe was widely regarded as one of the country’s most influential banking leaders.
A remembrance service for the late Herbert, Chizoba, and Chizzy Wigwe is being held at Eko Hotel, Lagos, Nigeria.
