2Baba, whose birth name is Innocent Ujah Idibia, was born in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria, on September 18, 1975. He is originally from central Nigeria’s Benue State, home of the Idoma ethnic community.
He began his musical career in the mid-1990s and was writing songs and recording jingles by 1996, particularly at the Enugu State Broadcasting Services (ESBS) GB Fan Club.
In order to distinguish between his personal and professional lives, he first went by the stage name “2Face.” However, in 2016, he formally changed it to “2Baba.”
Over the years, he has become one of Africa’s most respected musicians. In 2005, he won the MTV Europe Music Award for Best African Act. In 2019, he collaborated with Cobhams Asuquo and Timi Dakolo on a song to raise awareness for children’s rights.

He launched his first solo album, Face 2 Face, that same year. It was well-reviewed and went on to be named the best Nigerian solo artist’s debut album of the twenty-first century.
