Minister of FCT Wike, known for energetic drama alleged that Peter Odili was politically “d£ad” until he revived him during his tenure as governor of Rivers State.
The controversy surfaces after Dr. Odili, during a Christmas ballad in honor of Rivers Governor Siminalayi Fubara, accused Wike of trying to “capture” Rivers State as his private estate or empire.
Mr. Odili praised Fubara for standing firm against what he described as Wike’s “ferocious and unnecessary political war.”
Amidst the comments from Odili, Wike responded immediately during a thanksgiving service organized by Speaker Martin Chike Amaewhule in Port Harcourt.
He labeled Odili a “sycophant” who praises any government in power for personal gain. Wike further mocked Odili’s past admiration for him, recalling how the former governor hung on his portraits in every room of his house, including the kitchen and toilets.
Minister Wike also tackled Odili’s family involvement in state affairs, alleging that Odili had turned Rivers State into a family enterprise by appointing his wife, daughters, and relatives to key positions.
Wike questioned Odili’s credibility as an elder statesman, accusing him of trading political loyalty for relevance.
