Yul Edochie Links Rise in Premature Deaths to Neglect of Traditional Practices
Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has expressed worry over the high rate of death among young Nigerians, he attributed this to the abandonment of our traditional customs and spiritual practices.
In his recent Instagram post, Edochie listed the alarming rate of death among people in their 20s, 30s and 40s. He said the shift from our traditional ways to foreign religion which is a result of Western influence is the cause of this.
Edochie a father of 5 said powerful ancestral spirits that were revered in our traditional practices have been neglected and as a result of that they are angry and the consequences are negative.
He advised Nigerians to go back to their cultural roots and embrace the purity of their traditional practices.
He wrote, “Too many death these days. Young people dying in their 20s, 30s, 40s. It’s not normal. It’s happening because we have abandoned our traditional ways and adopted the ways of oyinbo people. The spirits that protect many of us and our lands are angry because we have neglected them. We must go back to our traditional ways which are very pure and powerful”.
