Yemi Alade receives her first Grammy medal
Nigerian singer Yemi Alade has received a tonne of congratulations and love from her fans after being nominated for a Grammy.
Yemi Alade posted a picture of the medal she was given during the 67th Annual GRAMMY Awards Special Merit Awards Ceremony and Nominees Reception in Los Angeles on her Instagram page.
Yemi Alade expressed her disbelief after receiving the Grammy nominee medal.
She said in her post, “Somebody pinch me! I have received my Grammy Nominee Medal at the Special Merit Awards Ceremony, and Nominees Reception for the 67th Annual GRAMMY Awards in Los Angeles, California.”
After posting the photo of the medal she received, fans and loved ones poured their congratulatory messages in the comment section.
Eight Nigerian artists have been nominated for the 67th Grammy Awards, which will take place on February 2, 2025. The nominees include:
- Davido
- Yemi Alade
- Lojay
- Tems
- Rema
- Asake
- Wizkid
- Burna Boy
These artists are competing in two main categories: Best African Music Performance and Best Global Music Album124.
Tems leads with three nominations, while Burna Boy is nominated for his single “Higher” in the Best African Music Performance category.
Yemi Alade is nominated for the Best African Music Performance at the 67th Grammy Awards for her song “Tomorrow.” This marks her first Grammy nomination.
