Woman t@ckles Igbo men who treat their Caucasian wives better than their Igbo wives
A Nigerian woman, named Ify Ibeanusi Onwubiko, has asked why Igbo men don’t treat their Igbo wives with respect as they do their Caucasian wives.
With a Facebook post on Sunday, December 29, Ify t@ckles Igbo men, “Why do our Igbo men who marry white women respect and reverence their wives, but they can’t respect and reverence their Igbo wives?” she wrote.
”Our Igbo men who marry Oyibo are not saying to them, you must be submissive, obey me, I am your head, you cannot control me.
You do house chores and do childminding. You Allow her to pursue her dreams and goals but if you marry your own Igbo wives you will be shouting be submissive, you must obey me. I am your head.
Abeg treat us all equally. Respect and appreciate her, she speaks your language, cooks the traditional foods that you eat, and you lick fingers, such as Nkwobi, Pepper soup, Okra soup, Egusi, Ofe Oha, Ofe Nsala, Ofe Onugbu. Ofe Ogbono etc. You speak your language with her. A good husband makes a good wife.”
This post caused a lot of pandemonium as some people agreed with the writer, while some disagreed. A lot of men said the white women are seen as destiny helpers, hence should be pampered.
Reactions were,
@ Donald Mark: ”Because you’re a liability. You’re coming into his life just to reap. There’s absolutely nothing you add to men”
@ Ebuka Chima: ”You are old and have no option but to complain”
@Okechukwu Francis: ”Na because of money ooo”
@Emmanuel Agundu: ”Nne we dey try oo”
@Igwe John: ” The reason is that any Igbo man married to an Oyibo woman, is not for love but because of documents and money. We respect those things not the Oyibo woman”
Is this statement by Ify true? What do you think about this post?
