Victor Boniface Will Be Sidelined Till 2025
Professional Nigerian footballer, Victor Boniface will stop playing till 2025 since he got an injury on his thighs during the match between Nigeria and Rwanda where Nigeria lost 2-1 in the qualifier for the Africa Cup of Nations.
According to some sources, 23-year-old Boniface’s muscle fiber was torn which made him suffer from immense pain and caused him to be substituted for another player, Umar Sadiq in the 89th minute of the football match against Rwanda.
Boniface coach, Xabi Alonso stated that caution will have to be taken ahead of the match against Heidenheim. In his words:
“He will miss a few games. I can’t say exactly how long. It won’t be six to eight weeks. We hope he can still play this year.”
This is the second most significant injury that Boniface has had this year.
The first injury made him to be sidelined for almost the entire second half of the last season but after the injury, he was in excellent form and even went on to score 6 goals and 1 assist in just 10 appearances.
Leverkusen is currently looking to sign Patrik Schick and Martin Terrier in place of Boniface however, none of the players have made an impact like him so far. However, the two of them are expected to play well and keep the club’s hopes alive till Boniface fully recovers.
