An urgent Concern at Arab Road Bridge in Kubwa, was raised by a concerned Kubwa resident. ”This is the current state of the Arab Road Bridge here in Kubwa. Piles of refuse are left burning periodically by the refuse collectors (locally known as “bola guys”).”
This practice is highly concerning for several reasons: 1. Hazardous smoke is a serious health risk for residents in the area.
2. The structural integrity of the bridge is at risk, as continuous exposure to fire can weaken the materials over time.
This situation is a disaster waiting to happen. We urge the Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB) and other relevant authorities to take immediate action to prevent further damage and safeguard the community.
