Trump invites Pastor Kumuyi to His Presidential Inauguration

Pastor Williams Kumuyi, the founder of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, has been invited by US President-elect Donald Trump to attend his second inauguration as the nation’s 47th president.

On January 20, Mr. Trump, 78, and his vice president, JD Vance, will be sworn in.

This comes after the terms of current President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris ended, with Harris losing to Trump in the 2024 presidential election.

The U.S. public relations firm Larry Ross Communications’ website confirms the invitation.

It comes two weeks after Nathaniel Bassey, a well-known Nigerian gospel musician, accepted an invitation to serve as a minister at Mr. Trump’s first prayer breakfast.

Bassey is the only African and Nigerian performer set to appear at the U.S. Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast, a non-political, religious gathering that takes place every four years prior to the swearing-in of a new government.

However, the statement published on the Larry Ross Communications website announced Wednesday that the 83-year-old clergyman will share insights on the global Christian shift during the inauguration.

Additionally, the statement emphasized that the participation of Pastor Kumuyi will stress the importance of Christian unity and religious freedom during the event.

The statement reads, “As global leaders convene in Washington, D.C. for President Donald Trump’s second inauguration on Jan. 20, one of the world’s most influential Christian leaders, Rev. William F. Kumuyi, will attend.

Kumuyi, the General Superintendent and Founder of Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM) based in Lagos, Nigeria, is pastor of the third-largest church in the world known for his impactful Bible teaching and evangelistic ministry.”
