Transmission Company of Nigeria has announced a 2-day power interruption in some parts of Abuja
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a 2-day power interruption in some areas of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

According to a statement from TCN’s General Manager of Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, the outage will occur on Saturday, February 22nd, and Sunday, February 23rd, 2025, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm each day.
The scheduled outage is due to annual preventive maintenance on two transformers at the Apo 132/33kV Transmission Substation in Abuja.
Mbah explained that the maintenance would involve the 2x100MVA, TR3 & TR4 transformers. During this period, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (Abuja DisCo) will be unable to receive bulk power supply from these transformers.
The planned power disruptions will impact several areas, including the National Hospital, G2 Injection Station, Garki, Area 1, and Asokoro. Other affected locations include Apo Legislative Quarters, Apo Resettlement, Gudu, Apo Mechanic, and surrounding neighbourhoods.
Transmission Company of Nigeria emphasized that the interruption is necessary for the maintenance process and assured customers that the power supply will be restored after the maintenance is completed.
The company also apologized for any inconvenience caused to affected residents and businesses.
Transmission Company of Nigeria usually carry out this maintenance periodically to avoid a breakdown of power equipment and transformers.
