The recent decentralization of the the aviation industry of Nigeria by the Tinubu-led government has received commendations and backlashes alike.
While others think it’s political aimed at weakening the North, other maintain it’s a way of spreading development and opportunities across the zones.
The action of the Tinubu-led government has generated more suggestions from Nigerians and media personalities to the government on other important sectors of the government that need to be decentralized to benefit other zones and regions.
Sarki, a popular social media influencer and activist has used his X handle to post,
“The next Northern President must prioritize decentralizing Nigeria’s seaports. The trade monopoly held by Lagos and the South West needs to be dismantled to prevent one region from wielding excessive economic power over the nation. It’s about time we bring an end to that monopoly”
His tweet emphasized the fact that decentralizing seaport will help in relieving some regions of monopoly of economic power.
