Sowore accompanies Corp member Ushie Rita to her LGI over a controversial video

Popular human rights activist and Politician Omoyele Sowore, has accompanied Corp member Ushie Rita Uguamaye, also known as Raye to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) office where she was supposed to meet her Local government Inspector.

Recall that Ushie Rita an NYSC member had recently gone viral after posting a video on TikTok where she lamented about the country’s worsening economic conditions and openly criticized Tinubu’s administration.

She later alleged that she had received thr3ats over the video and had been invited by her Local Government Inspector. This news sparked widespread debate among Netizens which prompted a 30DayRantChallenge on social media where people rant about the state of the economy.

Similarly, Sowore, in a video shared on X on Monday, 17th March 2025 revealed that he had met with Ushie Rita in Lagos and would be accompanying her to the NYSC Local Government Inspector’s office alongside a team of attorneys.

“The journey with youth Corper, Ushie Rita Uguamaye, has commenced in Lagos.

She is scheduled to appear before the LGI (Local Government Inspector) today and we will escort her to their offices. We are all en route with attorneys,” Sowore said.

Sowore’s involvement has shown unity and how Nigerians long for the betterment of the country. Also, this will further draw the attention of the authorities and stakeholders.

In another post, Sowore gave an update on the situation, ”We arrived Eti-Osa LGI offices of the @officialnyscng with youth Corper, Ushie Rita uguamaye in Lagos. She was scheduled to appear before the LGI today and we escorted her to their offices with attorneys @mrfestusogun, @yinka_oyesomi, and @justiceojienoh but LGI official had absconded failing to show up throughout our stay.”

As of now, there has been no official statement from the NYSC regarding the matter.
