Story Time: Five Countries That Have Never Been at War.

W4r has been etched into history as an undeniable factor of events. It has caused great pain and suffering to countries, as they often start because of religious differences, political conflicts, and disputes over land. From the notorious j!had orchestrated by Uthman Dan Fodio to the First and Second World W4rs. It destroys lives, properties, and economies, leaving a long-lasting mark on its victims.

Over 80% of the world’s countries have been involved in w4r, making the idea of a peaceful world quite bleak. But is there any country that has never fought in a w4r?

In this piece, we’ll look at countries that have avoided warfare throughout their history.

Vatican City.

Of course, this one’s a no-brainer. The Vatican City is a small, religious but independent state in Rome. It is also the centre of the Catholic Church. It has never been involved in w4r save for one little incident that happened with b0mbings. It was accidentally b0mbed twice, causing one de£th and injuring just one person. It was later recorded that the att4ck was unintentional. This would make sense as the Vatican doesn’t have any formal military. They rely on the Swiss Guard for ceremonial purposes, and the Pope, on the other hand, always advocates for peace.

Iceland.

Iceland has never taken part in a conflict directly. Remarkably, Iceland gained its independence during World W*r II when Nazi Germany seized Denmark, severing its ties to Danish authority. Iceland became independent after being shielded by Allied soldiers during the conflict. Iceland has maintained its peace and avoided involvement in w*rs ever since.

Greenland.

This would sound pretty ironic, especially if you’re obsessed with Vikings like I am. But it would surprise you that Greenland, although historically under Danish control, has never fought in a w4r. There is no record of Greenland engaging in battles, even during the Viking era. It does not have a military, relying instead on a coast guard for emergencies. Greenland’s remote location has kept it away from conflict.

San Marino.

Founded in the 4th century, San Marino is one of the oldest countries in the world and has never been involved in a w*r. With a land area of about 61.2 square kilometres and a population of less than 40,000, this small country is completely encircled by Italy. Even Napoleon and the German army revered its neutrality so much that they left it alone, even during WW II.

Vanuatu.

Vanuatu is a country famous for its natural beauty and peaceful history. It is made up of eighty islands in the South Pacific. During the WWII, when battles occurred in the neighbouring country, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu was not drawn into the fighting. This peaceful country has not been affected by warfare.

These countries are legitimate proof that warfare isn’t a system of civil advancement.
