Stop Going Abroad: President Tinubu Counsels Graduates
He advised Nigerian graduates not to rush out of the country after graduation
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has advised Nigerian graduates to stay back in the country to contribute to her development.
The President gave this advice during the 29th and 30th convocation ceremonies of University of Uyo (UNIUYO). Which was held at the main campus of the university.
He advised Nigerian graduates not to rush out of the country after graduation. He stated that there are plenty of opportunities in Nigeria.
And they do not need to be desperate about going to another man’s land to seek for opportunities.
He also called on universities to pursue innovative research that advances national development.
In his own words: “Education is the cornerstone of national development, and it must be both responsive and transformative for progress to occur.”
President Tinubu further stated that, “The government has invested significantly in your education, equipping you to make meaningful contributions to society.
As you step into the world, I urge you to be agents of positive change, using your skills to uplift our society and contribute to Nigeria’s growth and global development.
Resist the urge to look for greener pastures elsewhere.Together, we can make our own pastures equally green, if not greener.”
President Bola Tinubu was represented by the Vice Chancellor of University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), Professor Owunari Georgewill.
In his closing remark, president Tinubu encouraged everyone, both young and old to support the government.
“I ask for the support and understanding of Nigerians toward the government’s economic reform programs, despite the challenges they bring,” he added
