“Stop Fighting for God”: VDM Pleads After Qur’an Burning Incident
Recently, a Nigerian man led a group to publicly set ablaze Christian Bibles, claiming they are “books of slavery and bondage” and should not be seen or used. Some Nigerians disapproved of the act, while others congratulated his “liberation” and “bravery” in leading the so-called “reformation.”

Conversely, in Sweden, Salwan Momika, an alleged illegal Iraqi migrant reportedly deported from Norway after his asylum application was rejected, performed a provocative stunt under alleged Israeli sponsorship, burning a Qur’an.
Addressing these incidents, Verydarkman (VDM) stated, “Let’s respect holy books and also people should stop fighting for God. He’s almighty, let him judge. Abeg make them nor try this for Nigeria, respect the holy books 📚 even if you don’t believe in them.”
VDM’s tweet appears to balance his stance, not taking sides with either the Qur’an burner or those retaliating. However, it’s unclear what he believes shouldn’t be tried in Nigeria – the burning of holy books or retaliatory v!oleñcè.
His post generated numerous reactions. One netizen commented, “Never seen a god so lazy and docile that his worshipers would have to always fight for him/it,” suggesting that a truly powerful god should be able to defend itself. Another added, “If Allah can fight for himself the followers will not need to physically assassinate Salwan.”

Religious extr3m!sm of any kind is harmful. It’s this extrèm!sm that fuels both the initial acts of desecration and the subsequent retaliatory violence.
