“Akpi is being kept where boko haram and harden cr!minals are kept” – Akpi lawyer cries out

It is now 20 days since Speed Darlington, aka Akpi, was detained by the Nigerian police following an alleged defamat!on against Burna Boy.

Akpi’s attorney, Stanali Eke, on his Instagram story claims the police have refused to grant his client bail despite the court process.

According to his statement, the police claim the instruction was to keep Akpi in their custody till January 2025.

This can only happen in a lawless country like Nigeria, where a rich person can exert his influence and wealth to oppress the next person,” he wrote.

Stanali Eke also claims the police are taking advantage of the slow justice administration to keep Akpi arbitrarily.

According to him, the arraignment is scheduled for January 15, 2025, which is unfair for someone who has been detained for three (3) weeks now over a civil dispute.

Akpi’s ordeal should open the conversation as to the tricks that go on in our Cr!minal justice system and how the police use them to please their paymasters.” He added.

He also claimed Akpi told him that he is being kept underground in the SARS detention facility.

That’s where Boko H@ram and Harden cr!minals are kept; that is the same place Akpi is kept, over what, just because he allegedly !nsulted an influential person.”

The case has drawn the attention of many Nigerians, as rumour has it that super eagles legend Jay Jay Okocha and music promoter Paulo visited Burna to plead on behalf of Akpi.

Human rights activist Verydarkman and Barrister Adeyanju Deji are also trying to get Akpi out of detention.
