Spotify: “Expose Davido” Samklef says as 5 million streams were removed from ‘Funds’ and ‘Awuke’ on Spotify
Samklef, a singer and music producer, has taken to his X handle to express dissatisfaction over what he perceives as ‘foul play’ by media houses and some media personalities. He believes that if Spotify had removed streams for Burna Boy or WizKid, the news would have been widely covered, but since it was for Davido, it was overlooked.

In about a week ago, the news of the removal of two of Davido’s streams on Spotify sparingly found a space on the internet but couldn’t make the buzz and the reels. It’s found that Spotify removed over 5 million streams from two of Davido’s streams ‘Funds’ and ‘Awuke’. The reason for the removals is not known yet.
Research revealed that Spotify’s algorithm “conducts daily cleaning to ensure artificial streams are removed from public numbers in the Spotify app. This is essential to ensure a level playing field, where nobody is able to use artificial streaming to increase the perceived popularity of their music on Spotify.” – Spotify Support Team
