Law firm clears the air as to why Speed Darlington was Rearrested in Lagos

Speed Darlington’s rearrest sparks reactions as to why he was arrested again following his return from the United States where he has been for weeks.

Speed Darlington who was arrested by the Nigeria police following his defamation speech toward Burna boy was released and granted bail on October 8th. 

On Wednesday 27th November Speed Darlington was rearrested by the Nigeria police in Lagos and was brought down to Abuja. 

Many of his fans are worried about his rearrest. Some think Afrobeat star Burna Boy plotted it.

Darlington Achakpo, AKA Speed Darlington law firm representing him, has released a statement to clear the air as to why he was rearrested on Wednesday. 

Stan Alieke of Law Capitol took to their social media to release a statement saying their client Darlington Achakpo, AKA Speed Darlington was re-arrested in Lagos for jumping bail.

“Following our client’s performance in Owerri, our client was picked up by the police on allegations that he jumped bail. We are informed that this action was purportedly on the orders of the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Force Intelligence Bureau”. as in the statement released by the law firm.

When given an administrative bail and asked to report at a later date, the suspect shall do everything humanly possible to so report, and if for any unavoidable reason, he cannot, the same shall be properly and promptly communicated to the police with substantial evidence
