Singer Shakira cancels concert after being hospitalized for abdominal issues

Colombian singer, Shakira has revealed that she is being hospitalized after suffering abdominal issues on Saturday night.

The veteran 48-year-old singer announced that she was taken to the ER on Saturday night in a statement posted on her Instagram Stories.

Shakira also revealed she is now canceling her show in Lima, Peru after doctors diagnosed her and found her unfit to hit the stage.

”I am sorry to inform you all that last night I had to go to the ER for an abdominal issue and I am currently hospitalized,” she began in her statement.

”The doctors whose care I am currently under have communicated that I am not in good enough condition to perform this evening.

I am very sad to not be able to take the stage today. I’ve been looking forward to reuniting with my incredible fans here in Peru.”

Shakira says she hopes to be released and well tomorrow so that she can perform.

She continued to say that her team and promoters are already working on a new date to communicate with fans.

The ”Hips don’t li3 singer” thanked all her fans for their understanding and good wishes.

Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll was born on 2nd February 1977 in Barranquilla. She started her career in 1990 at the age of 13 and since then, she has been making waves in the music industry with several awards and achievements.
