The post contained a sorrowful message and an accompanying photograph of the deceased student, claiming that her life was prematurely stolen by acute hunger in her own bed. The user posted, “This university student met her end on her bed due to hunger.
Countless others teeter on the brink. Starvation, poor nutrition, missed meals, stomach ulcers, and even fatalities. A staggering 95% of @Makerere students are surviving without regular meals due to financial hardship. A subdued humanitarian crisis looms at @kyambogou, @Makerere, and other Ugandan universities.”
