Senate President Akpabio broke his promise to stop harassing my wife, Natasha’s husband speaks out

The ongoing dispute between Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has grown hard as Emmanuel Oritsejolomi Uduaghan, the husband of Senator Natasha, publicly intervened in the matter.

 The conflict, which initially stemmed from disagreements over Senate seating arrangements, has grown into a much more serious controversy following allegations of s£¥ual harassment.

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central in the Senate, claimed that her challenges within the Senate began after she rejected alleged se¥ual advances from Senate President Akpabio.

 She alleges that, as a result of turning down his advances, Akpabio blocked her legislative motions, preventing them from being heard on the Senate floor.

This has led to her being referred to the Senate Ethics Committee and temporarily suspended.

In response to Natasha’s allegations, Unoma Akpabio, wife of the Senate President, filed two lawsuits against Natasha, accusing her of defamation and violation of human rights.

One suit seeks a declaration of Natasha’s actions as violations of Akpabio’s dignity and emotional well-being, demanding ₦250 billion in damages.

The second suit, which concerns defamation, calls for a public apology and ₦1 billion in damages for the reputational harm caused.

Despite the legal actions, it is the statements of Natasha’s husband, Uduaghan, that have sparked further attention.

In a public statement, Chief Uduaghan revealed that his wife had confided in him about Akpabio’s alleged advances, prompting him to confront the Senate President directly.

Uduaghan claimed that he had met with Akpabio, urging him to stop harassing Natasha, and the two men had reached an understanding to resolve the matter amicably.

However, Uduaghan alleged that Akpabio’s behavior had continued despite his promises.

“I personally met with the Senate President and respectfully urged him to extend the courtesy and respect my wife deserves,” Uduaghan said in his statement. “We reached an understanding and agreed to resolve the issue amicably. 

However, despite this agreement, my wife continues to express concerns about the harassment she has endured from the Senate President.”

Uduaghan further emphasized his unwavering support for his wife, stating, “I have unwavering faith in my wife’s loyalty and am fully committed to our marriage, which is grounded in love, compassion, and mutual respect.”
