Cristiano Ronaldo Wins Guinness World Record as Portugal Beat Denmark in Nations League Quarters
Cristiano Ronaldo was awarded a Guinness World Record for most wins in men’s international football with 132 victories. This was given to him before Portugal’s Nations League quarter-final against Denmark in Lisbon. The ceremony was held on the pitch with fans and teammates cheering and marks another milestone in Ronaldo’s career.

Early on in the match, Portugal were awarded a penalty when Ronaldo was fouled by Danish defender Patrick Dorgu. But Ronaldo’s penalty was saved by Kasper Schmeichel, his 32nd missed penalty. Despite that, Portugal took the lead before halftime with an own goal by Joachim Andersen.
The second half was intense. Ronaldo was determined to make up for it and scored in the 72nd minute to get Portugal back on track. Denmark remained resolute and the match went to extra time. Portugal dominated in extra time and Francisco Trincão scored and another own goal by Andersen sealed a 5-2 win for Portugal and 5-3 aggregate win.
Portugal is now in the semi-finals of the Nations League where they are going to face the winner between Italy and Germany. Ronaldo’s record and his influence in the game show he’s still making an impact in international football. Despite the early penalty miss, he’s still leading by example to his teammates and fans.
