Popular Gospel singer Sinach faces #5billion l@w$u!t for copyright infringement
Nigerian music producer slammed Popular gospel artist Sinach N5 billion lawsu!t for copyright infringement and co-ownership of the 2015 “Way Maker” track.
Michael Oluwole aka Maye a Nigerian music producer has come out to claim co-ownership to Sinach’s hit song Way Maker.
On Wednesday 27 November 2024, the case was heard at the Federal High Court in Lagos, where he claimed he recorded, mixed, and mastered the song.
Maye alleged that the popular gospel singer has refused to share the proceeds from the song since it was released in 2015.
He also requested the court to grant him co-ownership of the song and every royalty be shared between both of them.

Emeka Etiaba (SAN), who represented the gospel singer at the court earlier on Wednesday, stated Maye was contracted as a producer for the song and that he was paid heavily for his job.
The N5 billion lawsu!t as to who owns the popular gospel song which has been heard across the world has sparked reactions online.
Fans of the gospel singer Sinach are wondering why he took Maye this long to realize he was a co-owner of the song.
