Portable threatens VeryDarkMan Over ₦180 Million NGO Funds: “I will be@t you to d€@th if you don’t return the money”

Nigerian singer Portable has called out activist Martins Otse, aka VeryDarkMan (VDM), for allegedly misappropriating ₦180 million meant for charity. This comes after VDM said hackers infiltrated his NGO’s website and took ₦180 million, leaving only ₦20 million.

In a video on X (formerly Twitter), Portable, known for being outspoken, held a wrestling belt and addressed VDM directly, calling him a thief. He challenged VDM to a fight over the alleged funds.

Portable was straightforward… he said:

“If you don’t return the NGO money, don’t come to Lagos or Abuja. We’ll fight you. A thief is a thief and a friend of a thief is also a thief. Rich men contributed ₦180 million for orphans and you spent it!”

He also lambasted VDM for misusing the funds:

“You claim to be fighting for Nigerians but it’s for your own benefit. I’ve never received ₦100 million to keep and I still distribute rice, noodles, fix roads and streetlights in my area. But you, you spent the NGO money in clubs. Bad person!”

These comments have generated a lot of reactions online with many people sharing their views. Some are with Portable, some are with VDM, and some are saying it’s complicated.

VDM who had earlier said his NGO’s website was hacked and ₦180 million was stolen also said a suspect was arrested and efforts were being made to recover the funds.

Other public figures have also joined the conversation. Crypto entrepreneur Linus Williams, aka Blord, called VDM a thief, saying he learned it from his upbringing. Blord said, “Fear the Loyalty Of A Poor Man!! For a thief will always remain a thief, @Coolverydarkman na better thief, he learnt from his mother.”

The public is still divided, some are saying VDM is lying, some are saying investigate and find out.
