The incident, which took place at a recent event, has stirred mixed reactions online, with many questioning the reasons behind her actions.
The controversy began when a video surfaced showing Peller extending his hand for a handshake, only for Burna Boy’s mother to ignore him while acknowledging other guests.
The moment quickly drew attention, with some netizens criticizing Peller for seeking unnecessary validation, while others accused Ogulu of favoritism and being proud.
In response to the growing discussions, Peller took to a TikTok live session to clarify the situation. He revealed that the encounter happened at Timini Egbuson’s movie premiere.
According to him, a close associate pointed out that Burna Boy’s mother was also present at the event, but she appeared unbothered about the incident.
Addressing the backlash he received, Peller downplayed the significance of the snub. He also shared a personal perspective on greetings, explaining that he does not even shake hands or formally greet his own mother.
“I don’t shake my mama, even, I don’t greet my mama because she’s always there for me,” he stated, implying that such gestures are not a big deal to him.
While some social media users sympathized with Peller, others argued that the snub was intentional and possibly a sign of disrespect.
