Pastor Adeboye shares miraculous survival story after life-threatening health attacks

During the annual Special Holy Ghost Service, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), revealed a life-threatening health scare he experienced seven years ago.

The renowned pastor opened up about how he struggled for his life after collapsing during an evangelism program in Ilesha, Nigeria, leaving him bedridden during Christmas for the first time in his life.

Adeboye recalled how his body broke down completely due to the exhausting effects of bad road conditions while traveling for the program.

The harsh reality of the journey, combined with the strain on his body, led to him collapsing unexpectedly.

For the first time, the normally strong pastor found himself unable to continue with his work or recover quickly enough to avoid missing one of the most significant celebrations of the Christian calendar.

Speaking at the event, Adeboye shared the physical and emotional toll of the incident, describing how the experience left him fighting for survival. “For the first time in my life, I spent Christmas Day in bed,” he said.

His voice full of gratitude, he added, “The devil was certain he had finally got me.” However, despite the severity of the health crisis, the pastor’s faith remained unshaken, and his testimony ultimately took a hopeful turn.

Due to his condition, Adeboye was airlifted to the church’s camp for continued care.

Despite his weakened state, some individuals tried to prevent the helicopter from taking off, leading to the damaging of one of the helicopter’s windows.

Yet, the faith and perseverance of those involved ensured that Adeboye was flown safely to receive the necessary treatment, which eventually led to his recovery.

Reflecting on the ordeal, Adeboye expressed immense gratitude to God for sparing his life, remarking, “Seven years later, I am still here!”

He urged the congregation to join him in thanking God for the miracle of his survival, emphasizing that it was only through divine intervention that he was able to continue his ministry and service to the church.
