Ondo State 2024 Election: APC Projected Winner
As INEC declares result of over 3,681 polling units in the just concluded Ondo State 2024 Election, Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has been projected winner
The APC currently polls 373,421 while it’s closest rival, PDP, polls 114,000
With results of over 3,681 polling units declared, only 252 polling units is left out of the total 3,933 polling units
APC’s Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the incumbent governor seeking reelection, voted earlier on Saturday at his polling unit 005, Ward 4, Obenla, in Ilaje Local Government Area.
He has secured a victory in his polling unit.
Aiyedatiwa garnered 128 votes at polling unit 05, Igbo ward 4, Obenla in Ilaje LGA, where he cast his vote. While his closest rival, Agboola Ajayi of the PDP, secured only three votes in the Ondo State 2024 Election
Earlier, Aiyedatiwa expressed confidence in winning the election, He emphasized that he was the only candidate to have visited all 18 LGAs to canvas for votes, urging residents to participate in the Ondo State 2024 election without fear or bias.
Aiyedatiwa also stated his enthusiasm to admit defeat if the election is free from fraud.
“If the outcome doesn’t favor my party, and we don’t receive any reports of fraud, we’ll accept defeat,” he said.
“However, if we notice any irregularities, we’ll challenge the results at the tribunal.”
Aiyedatiwa commended security operatives for ensuring a peaceful election, stating that the process has been smooth across the state.
Simultaneously, Ajayi of the PDP expressed doubts about INEC’s ability to conduct a free and fair election.
Ajayi had earlier expressed dissatisfaction with the electoral process, stating that the system had been “compromised”.
According to INEC, Ondo State has 2,053,061 registered voters, but only 1,757,205 PVCs were collected.
Results from polling unit 04 in Apoi Ward 2, Kiribo, Ese-Odo LGA, indicate Ajayi secured 194 votes, far surpassing Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s 3 votes.
So far, less than 270 polling unit results are yet to be announced in the Ondo State 2024 Election
