Funke Akindele Movie “Everybody Loves Jenifa” becomes Nollywood biggest debut
Nollywood award-winning actress Funke Akindele’s newly released movie, “Everybody Loves Jenifa,” became Nollywood’s biggest movie on its debut, with over 206 million streams worldwide.
Funke Akindele took to her Instagram account to celebrate the milestone of her newly released movie. The movie became available in cinemas on 13 December 2024.
After warning the public of piracy, Funke extensively explained how she was ready to arrest anybody who tried to record the movie in the cinema. A few days later, the movie broke the internet as the biggest Naija movie.

The photos she posted on Instagram revealed impressive box office numbers, with the movie grossing ₦87.8 million on its debut and now surpassing ₦205 million.
In the post’s caption, she expressed her heartfelt gratitude; Funke Akindele wrote, “Thank you, Lord!!! Thank you, Nigeria!!! Thank you!!!!!!!!!”.
Funke Akindele’s movie Everybody Loves Jenifa has stirred serious reactions since its release date; celebrities and fans have joined her to celebrate the movie’s achievements.
Popular Nollywood star Eniola Badmus made fun of it as she teased Funke by asking her to send money into her account as they all celebrated the milestone.
