No Fund is Missing: Access Bank Replies Verydarkman on ₦500m Inheritance Claims
Access Bank has replied to Verydarkman over his allegation that the bank siphons a #500 million inheritance dispute involving the estate of the late Mr. Edongesi Edith, who passed away in 2019.
Mr. Edith was said to have passed away without leaving a will for his family. Meanwhile, Access Bank said no fund is missing.
In a viral video, VeryDarkMan accused Access Bank of initially denying the existence of the account in question and later claiming it had gone dormant, with a balance of 54 kobo.
He also alleged that the bank withheld transaction records, calling for a deeper investigation.
The family reportedly recovered funds from other banks but claims they have encountered obstacles with Access Bank.
Verydarkman said “This is not just about one family. It’s about ensuring that every Nigerian can trust the banking system to safeguard their money for future generations.”
However, Access Bank has replied to Verydarkman’s allegation, saying that no fund is missing.
In a statement released by the bank’s management, Verydarkman’s claims were described as “false and unfounded.”
In its statement, the bank emphasized its dedication to transparency, and safeguarding customer assets.
The statement partly reads, “Our attention has been drawn to a video on social media wherein allegations of missing funds and unethical behaviour have been made against Access Bank PLC.
“First and foremost, we wish to emphasise that the safety and security of our customers’ funds are core priorities that we take seriously.
Second, Access Bank Plc does not engage in or condone any unethical behaviour.

“We and other independent stakeholders in the banking industry have thoroughly investigated these allegations and independently arrived at the same conclusions.
