Nigerian Pastor Cur$es Thief Who St0le His N30,000 Christmas Chicken

A Nigerian pastor mounted the streets with a public address system and accused some thieves of stealing his Christmas chicken worth ₦30,000. The clergyman who remained anonymous expressed his anger by raining heavy curses on the unidentified thief.

The pastor’s utterances were captured on camera and have gone viral on the social media platforms. The fuming man of God was heard saying, “I am a man of God, that fowl is pastor fowl, N30K. You that see the person that carry the fowl and you the person that carry the fowl, if you don’t return am before 24 midnight, your own don finish.” 

The incident has generated different comments from the general public. While some people sympathized with the pastor, considering the amount he spent to purchase the fowl, which is pretty expensive during the Yuletide, others felt the pastor should not have gone that far as a cleric.

One social media user reacted, “This is actually painful, someone Christmas chicken.” 

Another commented, “That lady shouting ameeen is no 1 suspect, hol am.”

The pastor’s condemnation shows the high importance of Christmas preparations in Nigeria, where many families find it difficult to make that time memorable. Losing an essential piece of a family’s prized item in such a situation is painful both psychologically and financially.

Though his condemnation seems a bit extreme, the pastor only expressed the travails facing people when their properties are infringed upon, as stealing is rife in every nook and cranny. The pastor, in essence, has sent a cautionary message regarding the spiritual and communal consequences of such an action.

So far, no report has been made of the recovery of the stolen fowl, and the thief has not been caught. Reactions have continued to follow the development of the issue on the internet, revealing different opinions on how justice should be served or if the act should be overlooked.
